It’s been around 30 years since my last blog post. My activism unfortunately had to come to an end after a near brush with death while participating in a protest which turned violent. After the incident I promised my wife that I would stay home and lay low for a while. It was then that I decided in order to separate work from home, I would discontinue the blog. Over the last 30 years I have participated in activism from a safe distance. I have partaken in fundraisers and volunteered whenever the cause needed me. I did whatever I could to honor Andrew without worrying my family in the process. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic happening in our country, I believe it is time for my voice to be heard once again. I have experienced a pandemic. I have seen individuals lose their lives due to the public’s inability to take an epidemic seriously. Please, I beg you, WEAR A MASK. I’ve stood beside a family that had to watch as a loved one die due to the nation’s inexperience with the disease that they were fighting. Until they figure out a cure, it is important to understand that death tolls can only go up.

I remember when the HIV outbreak started, Dr. Fauci was being applauded for the work he did, and now he’s being laughed at. I Simply do not understand this protest of modern medicine, but it truly makes me sick. We need to trust our medical professionals and be cautious. It’s also important to buy the medical professionals time to develop a proper vaccine. I watched as AZT was consumed under the belief that it would cure individuals, but in reality it only killed them faster. The longer we can keep this virus under control, the better chance we have with developing a proper vaccine. I cannot stress enough that we need to be smart, learn from our past, and do so to honor the ones who were lost. I never stop thinking about Andrew. I spent my entire life searching for a way to make an impact in Andrews name. What I have learned over the years is that the best way to make an impact is by fighting for progress, and now we have the opportunity to do so. By staying healthy, encouraging others to be smart, and listening to doctors, we can fight to inspire progress. Please wear a mask.
